In this loan report on three Arsenal players, an assist, an injury return and a lack of starts are on the agenda as these Gooners enjoyed mixed fortunes.

Eddie Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah endured more frustration while on loan at Leeds United as the Yorkshire side enjoyed mixed fortunes. The Whites lost to Charlton Athletic 1-0 last Saturday, before beating West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in a top-of-the-table clash on Tuesday evening.

The Arsenal man only completed 45 minutes across the two fixtures, coming off the bench against the Addicks (via TransferMarkt). The England youth international didn’t make it off the bench against West Brom as Marcelo Bielsa’s side held out for the win, thanks to a goal from Ezgjan Alioski.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Henrikh Mkhitaryan continued his fine start to the season with AS Roma, as he assisted their only goal of the game in their 1-0 win over Lecce.

The Armenian international crossed the ball for striker Edin Dzeko, who headed in just 11 minutes into the second half. The win sees the Italian side sit fifth in Serie A on 11 points from their five games so far this season.

William Saliba

William Saliba finally made his long-awaited return from a hamstring injury in Saint Etienne’s 1-0 win over Ligue 1 rival Nîmes Olympique.

Saliba made a substitute appearance in the 89th minute as the French side went joint-level with 18th-placed Brest (via Sky Sports).

The three Arsenal players are enjoying mixed fortunes at their respective clubs, ranging from Champions League qualification hopes to relegation dogfights.

Mkhitaryan is enjoying a great time in Serie A with Roma sitting just outside the top four in Italy and hoping to qualify for Europe’s premier competition.

Nketiah is helping Leeds with the promotion charge to the top flight in England, but having yet to start a Championship game, he will likely be bitterly disappointed with his limited gametime.

Finally, Saliba faces a tough task with Saint-Etienne, who are fighting a relegation battle in Ligue 1.
