Arsenal monitoring “highly talented” 22-year-old striker after Champions League audition

Arsenal could be forced to strengthen their attacking options as they look to maintain their challenge for major honours this season.

Viktor Gyökeres has struggled to find his best form since arriving at the Emirates Stadium, while Gabriel Jesus left the club during the summer, leaving Mikel Arteta short of dependable options up front.

Kai Havertz remains a valuable option, but relying heavily on the German international could prove risky across a demanding campaign.

With Arsenal potentially looking towards the transfer market for a long-term solution, an impressive young striker has emerged as a serious target following his exploits in the Champions League.

Arsenal Serious About Record-Breaking Move for Nicolo Tresoldi

According to Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira, Arsenal remain interested in signing Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi after the 22-year-old strengthened his reputation with a sensational Champions League performance.

The Germany youth international was reportedly on Arsenal’s radar previously, although the Gunners initially decided he was not ready to make the step up to a club competing for the biggest trophies. His recent performances, however, could force the north London side to reconsider that assessment.

Tresoldi — described as “highly talented” by Brugge manager Ivan Leko — enjoyed a memorable outing against Inter Milan, scoring a hat-trick in Club Brugge’s thrilling 4-3 victory. The striker also found the net against Aston Villa earlier in the competition, taking his Champions League tally to four goals in just two appearances.

His form has been equally impressive domestically. Tresoldi finished the 2025-26 campaign with 23 goals and has continued that momentum this season, reportedly scoring nine times in 11 appearances across all competitions.

Those numbers have attracted interest from several major European clubs, with Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich also monitoring his development. Barcelona have additionally been linked with the forward, suggesting Arsenal could face considerable competition if they decide to pursue a deal.

However, Club Brugge are in a strong negotiating position. The Belgian side rejected a reported €35 million offer from Roma during the summer and are now expected to demand a club-record fee for Tresoldi.

That valuation would exceed the €40 million they received for Christos Tzolis, who joined Arsenal during the summer transfer window. Brugge paid just €7.5 million to sign Tresoldi from Hannover 96 in 2025, meaning a major sale would represent a substantial profit.

For Arsenal, the striker’s recent performances could make him an increasingly attractive option. His finishing and ability to deliver on the European stage suggest he has the potential to develop into a top-level forward.

There is no guarantee that the Gunners will make a formal offer, but their continued interest indicates that Tresoldi remains firmly on their radar. With questions surrounding their centre-forward options, his development is one Arsenal will be watching closely ahead of future transfer windows.
