Arsenal ‘interested’ in signing 23-year-old international midfielder who is the “complete package”

Arsenal have continued to strengthen their squad under Mikel Arteta, but the midfield remains an area where further competition could be added.

The Gunners have already invested heavily in recent transfer windows, yet the emergence of another Premier League midfielder on the England scene could give the club another opportunity to improve their options in the middle of the pitch.

One player who appears to have caught Arsenal’s attention is a Bournemouth star who has recently seen his stock rise considerably after making his mark at international level.

Arsenal remain interested in Alex Scott

According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, with the England international now attracting interest from several of the Premier League’s biggest sides.

Scott enjoyed an impressive first England start in the 7-0 victory over Croatia, producing a performance that further demonstrated why so many clubs are keeping tabs on his situation. After the win, Thomas Tuchel described him as the “complete package.”

The 23-year-old’s performances have also strengthened the case for a move away from Bournemouth in the future. Arsenal have previously been credited with an interest in the midfielder, while Chelsea and Liverpool are also among his admirers.

Bournemouth are currently determined to keep Scott until at least the end of the season, meaning Arsenal would face a difficult task if they attempted to secure his services in January.

The Cherries have already rejected approaches for the player and have shown little indication that their stance will change during the winter window. Scott also has uncertainty surrounding his long-term future, having previously turned down a new contract offer from Bournemouth.

Arsenal’s interest could therefore become particularly significant next summer, especially if Scott continues to develop at his current rate.

The midfielder has already demonstrated his ability to perform at Premier League level and now looks increasingly comfortable on the international stage. His versatility and energy could make him an attractive option for Arteta as Arsenal look to maintain competition across their midfield.

With Chelsea currently viewed as one of the leading contenders and Liverpool also interested, Arsenal may have to act decisively if they want to win the race for Scott.

For now, Bournemouth’s position means a January move looks unlikely, but the growing competition for his signature could set up a major transfer battle in 2027.
