Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are delighted to hear that Arsene Wenger is closing in on a long term target as the Daily Mirror revealed they planning a £10m bid for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye.
The Gunners have kept tabs on the Frenchman ever since he joined Newcastle but they missed out on him when he moved to the Ligue 1 champions for £15.5m.
If they agree a deal for £10m, then it would be a real snip, as he has failed to hold down a starting place in Laurent Blanc’s squad.
Cabaye had great success in the Premier League and he may want to return to England after he has struggled to find his feet since his move to PSG.
The 29-year-old now has great experience and could be an integral part in Arsenal’s squad next season as they look to become convincing title challengers again.
