Wenger is a huge admirer of the English star and is ready to take advantage of Liverpool’s inability to get Sterling’s contract extension over the line.
Talks between the Reds and the 20-year-old seemed to have been going on forever before it came apparent that Sterling had stalled the talks until the summer.
This has given Arsenal the confidence that they can poach him from Anfield for a cut price.
Wenger is a huge fan of Sterling and has once said he is “one of the great players in England.”
Although the Gunners will face competition from Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid as they are also keeping tabs on the winger.
