Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are deep in debate after the London Evening Standard revealed they are considering offering Manchester City midfielder James Milner a contract at the end of the season.
As things stand the 29-year-old is going to be a free agent at the end of season and the Gunners are hoping they can capitalise on this situation.
Milner has currently turned down a three-year extension worth £80,000 a week, with the issue being that the club cannot guarantee first-team football.
Arsenal are amongst several clubs in contention to offer Milner a contract including Liverpool, Valencia and Inter Milan.
The former Leeds United and Aston Villa is a key asset to the Citizens as he counts as a home grown player and this is essential when registering squads.
Not only is this a positive but he is a great professional with a phenomenal work rate and there has been times this season where he has inspired the team to get a result, in matches where the other stars have been lacklustre.
