Arsenal fans are on red alert here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro seem to think they are about to swoop for one of Newcastle United’s best prospects.
Young Rolando Aarons has lit up St James Park when making appearances for the Toon Army and now it seems that he could well be on his way to north London after contract talks were shelved between the player and Newcastle.
Given there is only a year to run on his current deal, Arsene Wenger will be fully ware that a swoop now could land him one of the best young stars around and for basically no money – and our punters note that Newcastle need to be careful or they could risk losing the under 20s England international.
The player himself is tricky and full of pace – and has even been compared to Raheem Sterling.
