Arsenal fans are looking relatively surprised here in the Football Transfer Tavern after seeing the latest claim from Metro who seem to think Inter Milan are ready to return to sender.
The Serie A side have reportedly decided that they no longer require the permanent services of Lukas Podolski who is of course currently on loan at the San Siro for the remainder of the 2014/15 season.
Roberto Mancini’s men had the option to buy the German international forward but will certainly not be taking that option up.
As one of our punters notes, when the former FC Koln forward was left out of the Nerazzurri’s Europa League squad to face Celtic and in potential future European fixtures this term, we felt that the danger signs were on the horizon but this seems a bit premature – even for Mancini.
Our landlord makes the point that Podolski will now have to try and find another club to take him on for next term given the Gunners have made it very clear that they see no future for the social media loving star in their side.
