Alphonse Areola was reportedly a transfer target of Arsenal’s in the past, according to Mundo Deportivo, and the latest social media post from his wife could be hinting that the goalkeeper may be on his way to a London club.
Areola’s wife Marrion posted a photo on Instagram of the family outside a house in the capital of England, and she announced that the property is a new purchase.
The Paris Saint-Germain player has featured 107 times for the Ligue 1 giants, keeping a very impressive 53 clean sheets, per Transfermarkt. However the last season he was involved in a swap deal with Spanish side Real Madrid in which PSG loaned in Keylor Navas and Areola went the other way.
This probably looked like a good move for the Frenchman at the time however across the season at Los Galacticos, Areola only managed to play nine times in all competitions and was seen as a back up goalkeeper, per Transfermarkt.
The £11.70 million valued goalkeeper will want to be playing football and this new property in London could possibly hint at the fact that he is preparing for a move to a club in the area. With the recent form of Emiliano Martinez, such a move would be seem very unfair on the Argentinian, whilst the Gunners also have Bernd Leno on their books.
Nevertheless, the fact that a transfer target of the club has moved to London could be a hint towards a potential move.
