Metro certainly have Arsenal fans moving over to the bar here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they link the North London club with a rather high profile forward.
The player in question is Fernando Llorente who has struggled this season for defending Serie A champions Juventus and has seen his stock fall while fellow Spaniard Alvaro Morata’s has risen.
Morata joined the Old Lady from Real Madrid last summer and has taken Serie A by storm meaning that Llorente has fallen behind him in the pecking order and would be allowed to leave Turin should a decent offer come in for him.
As one of our punters notes, while Arsenal could do with another top forward, we are not sure Llorente fits that bill with the former Athletic Bilbao man failing to really hit the heights he once reached just prior to leaving the Basque side in 2013.
Given he is asking for £63,000 per week, which the Gunners are reportedly willing to pay, our resident Gooners think there are far better options out there for Arsene Wenger to spend his money on.
