Arsenal will search around to add depth to their attack this summer, and they could have already found a new superstar in Ferran Torres.
The Valencia right-winger is just 19-years-old yet the Daily Mail believe the Gunners and Leicester are both interested in bringing him to England. Indeed, he’s played 24 times in La Liga this season and has impressed scouts across Europe, and everyone knows the Gunners need a lift right now…
Frankly, his two goals and one assist don’t paint the true picture of his potential. In fact, to break into the team that finished fourth this season is some achievement and he’s shown how creative and exciting he can be when given the chance to shine.
As you’ll know by now, considering the multiple reports that have emerged over the months, Arsenal don’t have a large transfer budget, but the fact he’s rated at £10.8m on Transfermarkt suggests Unai Emery could have a chance of bringing him to the Emirates.
Excitingly, in north London, he’d join a wealth of fast attackers and make their front-line even more formidable.
He’s an international for Spain at U19 level and has even been compared to Marco Asensio, according (per Uefa’s official site) to his Spain U17 coach. The potential is clear and all Emery has to do is unlock it by bedding him into his first team next season.
Torres could play for Arsenal for the next decade if he signs, that’s what the club have to start thinking now. With that in mind, he’d be a bargain in that case, and one who could help the Gunners climb back into the Champions League and maybe even challenge for the Premier League title.
