Arsene Wenger is rumoured to be keen on Barcelona’s Pedro, according to reports published by TuttoMercato today.
Of course, the Catalan giants have something of a history of bidding for, and unsettling, Arsenal’s stars; Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and to a lesser extent Denilson have all been the subject of persistent interest from the La Liga champions.
In the cases of Thierry Henry and Alexander Hleb, Barca’s interest eventually paid off, and they got their man. Speculation continues that Fabregas will be the next name on this list.
However, Arsenal did, of course, sign Cesc from Barca as a teenager, so it’s not all one-way traffic between the Champions League opponents. If rumours are to be believed, then Pedro may be the next youngster to move the other way and even the scores between Wenger and Pep Guardiola.
The 23-year-old has hit 10 goals in 19 league games this season, yet reports suggest a bid of just £16m would be enough to seal a deal for the talented forward.
Well, if that really is Pedro’s price-tag, Arsenal had better move fast before other clubs get wind of it!
