Arsene’s Flop Sale Will Spark €10M Purchase Of A Real Talent

According to tuttomercatoweb.com Wenger is set to flog Andrei Arshavin and use the cash to land Lille’s Ivorian striker Gervinho.

Well this rumour comes following Arshavin claiming he has a great relationship with Wenger and he is going nowhere? Is this the news Arsenal fans really want to be hearing? I doubt it…

The Russian flop has failed to live up to the expectation he carried to the emirates in the winter of 2009, following his tantalising display during the Euro’s that set every power house in football requesting his assistance.

The past season has presented us all with the cracks showing as the pressure of the No.23 failing to live up to his reputation weighs down on his 5ft 4” shoulders, which has resulted in him looking uninterested and on many occasions appears to go missing.

It’s no shock to hear his former employers Zenit St Petersburg would welcome the front man back with open arms, where he spent eight years playing some of his best football.  Zenit are looking to steal him away from North London paying just over half the fee they sold him for and are lining up a £7 million bid.

Gervinho has attracted a host of clubs with a handful of premiership teams’ interested in the hit man. The Ivory Coast star has thrashed the back of the net on 15 occasions this term helping French outfit Lille win the league for the first time since 1954.

The 24 year old is rated around £10 million and would be seen as a great addition to Arsenals uncertain firepower, with the likes of Bendtner, Nasri, Fabregas and Arshavin possibly heading for the exit.

I’m not sure about Gervinho but Wenger certainly needs to be active this summer to compete or Arsenal could be heading out the top four, never mind challenging for the league… Fingers crossed Arsene… This could be your last chance.

I am pursuing a career in journalism. I am a big Arsenal fan and use to love nothing more than travelling the country watching the Arsenal week in week out. I say (use) to love, I’m 100% sure i still would love it... The greatest player ever to grace the premiership is Thierry Henry in my book. Football aside, only fools and horses it is....
