Rumoured Aston Villa transfer target Franck Kessie could be a great signing for the club in the January window, according to transfer expert Dean Jones.
The Lowdown: Kessie linked with Villa move
Unai Emery is likely to be on the lookout for new signings at Villa Park, as he looks to keep impressing in his new job once the World Cup is done and dusted.
One player who has recently been linked with a move to Villa is Kessie, who finds himself out of favour at Barcelona, having joined them from AC Milan earlier this year.
The 25-year-old has only started two matches in La Liga this season and he may be eyeing up a January move elsewhere.
The Latest: Jones talks up signing
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones claimed that Kessie could be a big signing for Villa, telling them to complete a move for him:
“Kessie played himself into brilliant form at AC Milan, he got the move to Barcelona but it obviously hasn’t worked out for him.
“If he’s willing to give up on that, if he’s willing to turn his back and look for a transfer, then this would be a great player to go for in January.”
The Verdict: Great midfield addition
Kessie may be out of favour at Barca but he is a formidable midfielder, being hailed as a ‘devastating’ footballer by former Roma hero Antonio Cassano.

Emery could see Kessie as someone who can take his midfield up a gear moving forward, with John McGinn underperforming this season and Douglas Luiz’s future up in the air.
