The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to what’s meant to be their club’s home kit for next season after it was leaked by Footy Headlines yesterday. The Magpies will be returning to their usual crest after a special version of it donned the club’s strips this season to celebrate their 125th anniversary.

The Geordies propping up our bar have mixed feelings on their club’s latest strip, although it’s always easier to make an opinion on it after seeing your side play in it. Rafa Benitez’s side still have two more home games this season, meaning that they’ll have at least another two opportunities to see their side take to the pitch in their current iconic shirts.
Whilst this time of year sees fans up and down the country getting excited about the kit designs for the following seasons, the Magpies still have four Premier League games remaining. St James Park is in no danger of becoming a Championship ground next season as the club sit 10th in the table, but finishing the season strong will be the priority in the mind of their Spanish gaffer. Newcastle are three points behind Leicester and four behind Everton, although they have a game in hand over the Toffees, as they look to end the season in 8th place.
