Barcelona fans have taken to Twitter to share their concerns regarding the prospect of Marcelo Gallardo being named as a potential replacement for Ernesto Valverde, should the current manager be sacked from his position.

According to a report by Argentine media outlet TNT Sports (via Sport-English), the Catalans are considering to make a move for the current River Plate boss should they decide to head down a new path at the Camp Nou.
However, the report by the Spanish media outlet also states that Barcelona have ‘categorically denied’ making any contact with Gallardo about the possibility of taking over the helm of one of world football’s biggest clubs.
The Argentine is one of the most successful managers in the country as a result of having extreme amounts of success with River. According to Sport-English, he has won ten trophies in the last five years and his side are in a good position to defend their Copa Libertadores title after beating fierce rivals Boca Juniors 2-0 in their semi-final first leg tie earlier this week.
However, those accolades do not appear to be enough for some of the Barcelona fans on Twitter, as many of them do not feel Gallardo would be the best man suited for the job should Valverde be sacked.
Whilst many stated they did not know who the 43-year-old was, many of them felt it would just be another version of their current manager and nothing would really change.
