The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are absolutely loving their new gaffer, Unai Emery, as the Spanish coach has described Arsenal’s opening fixtures as exciting on Twitter. The Premier League fixture list was announced this morning and Arsenal will be playing Manchester City at home and Chelsea away in his first two league games as the new Arsenal boss.

Man City, of course, won the Premier League last season, and so they won’t be easy to beat. In fact, you could argue that they would be better than ever on the opening day as they look to retain their title. Chelsea, meanwhile, will be eager to bounce back after a very tough year last season.
Whilst the opening fixtures will be far from easy for the Gunners, the fans are confident that they can get something from the two games with new manager Emery in charge. The Spaniard has a strong history of winning trophies, having won three straight Europa League titles with Sevilla before moving to PSG and winning one Ligue 1 title as well as two French Cups and one French League Cup.
Now though, the former PSG gaffer has a new challenge in front of him as he looks to try and win Arsenal their first league title since the club went invincible in the 2003/04 season. The end of the season will mark 15 years since Arsene Wenger went unbeaten for a whole season and the fans will be hoping that the club can come up with some sort of success to mark it under their new manager.
