‘Better than Costa and Kane’ - Man United fans erupt in delight at striker

Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling a little worse for wear today, after celebrating their dramatic victory over Anderlecht long into the night.

Marcus Rashford’s extra-time strike put Jose Mourinho’s side in the hat for this afternoon’s Europa League semi-final draw and the Red Devils will be confident of lifting the trophy outright, with the other three sides left in the competition being Lyon, Ajax and Celta Vigo.

It could have all been different though had Anderlecht punished United for their array of missed opportunities last night, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming under fire and Rashford also missing glorious openings, but all was forgotten when the England youngster netted his winner.

Twitter was understandably awash with praise for the teenager, with many pointing out the sheer talent possessed by a youngster who’s tipped to become a superstar in the future – with some predicting he’ll become a Manchester United legend.

Our landlord believes they might have got carried away a bit, as he’s been disappointed with Rashford’s season overall – but he’s been muttering that thought quietly today….
