The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely enthralled by their side’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
Following back-to-back draws in the Premier League, Chelsea went to The Amex Stadium with a point to prove and they silenced their doubters with an imperious display on the south coast. Antonio Conte’s side wrapped up their victory courtesy of a brace from Eden Hazard and further strikes from Willian and Victor Moses.
The Pensioners were in fine goal-scoring form, but Michy Batshuayi’s failure to find the back of the net further emphasised Chelsea’s need to bring a new centre-forward to Stamford Bridge this month.
Batshuayi was handed a rare opportunity to strut his stuff from the outset due to the absence of Alvaro Morata who missed the weekend fixture through suspension after being sent off during a third-round replay against Norwich in mid-week.
The Belgian striker put in a vastly improved display and he provided Willian with an assist for Chelsea’s second-goal with a delightfully weighted back heel following a breathtakingly intricate move on the edge of The Seagulls area.
But despite Batshuayi’s perfromance, the Chelsea supporters remain enticed by the proposition of luring Roma’s Bosnian talisman Edin Dzeko to the club.
Dzeko (valued at £19.8 million by Transfermarkt) impressed in both of Roma’s Champions League fixtures against Chelsea this season, as he scored 2 goals at Stamford Bridge during a 3-3 draw, and provided an assist in Chelsea’s humbling 3-0 defeat at The Stadio Olimpico.
Considering his record against Chelsea, it is no surprise that plenty of The Blues faithful are calling for his signature on Twitter.
Here’s what the Chelsea supporters had to say about a potential move for Edin Dzeko…
If Chelsea sign Edin Dzeko, it will be one of the deals of the season. Surprised he’s been away from the PL for so long.

Dzeko is one of the hottest strikers in Europe and Chelsea is getting him for roughly £25 million. In a market where Coutinho is worth £143 million, that's a freaking bargain even at 31
