The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from their 25-year-old striker, Danny Ings. Whilst speaking in an interview for the Liverpool website, the former Burnley man spoke of the positivity at the club and claimed that now he’s in the best physical shape possible, he’s ready to give everything, every single day.

Danny Ings has been one of the most unfortunate players in Liverpool history. The 25-year-old signed from Burnley ahead of the 2015/16 season and is now in his third year with the club, although his start against Everton earlier this month was his first for two-and-a-half years. Ings suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in his first season with the club, writing off his whole first campaign, before then requiring a knee operation in October 2016, ending his second consecutive season at the club.
In his third year under Jurgen Klopp, Ings has managed to remain injury free for the most part, although having not played football for two years took its toll on the Englishman. Ings took a number of months to regain his fitness and match sharpness and is only now making his return, trying to make up for lost time and revive a career in Merseyside for himself. What makes things tougher for Ings is the 82 goals that have been scored by Liverpool’s deadly three-pronged attack of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. That isn’t stopping Ings though, who’s determined to get his break one way or another.

I hope you can break into the team. A goal would be nice for you to get back in the saddle. All the best, keep pushing yourself

Would love to see him pick his game up. I am sure with him training under Klopp on a regular basis, he will have a big part to play next season! #LFC @IngsDanny
