Our resident Arsenal fans here inside the Football Transfer Tavern have been pretty glum recently, with Wenger and his side having gone through a turbulent few months.
The Gunners currently sit outside the top four in the Premier League in fifth position, in a season that was supposed to deliver a lot more than it currently has.
Turmoil both on and off the pitch has made it one hell of a miserable campaign for the Gunners faithful, especially with their arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur enjoying a much rosier season.
Of course, today was the day that England manager Gareth Southgate announced his England squad that will be facing Germany and Lithuania, and the Arsenal fans here in the Tavern were paying close attention.
And, to the surprise of many Gooners here in the pub, a certain Theo Walcott was not included in Southgate’s squad, with the 46-year-old opting to utilise the likes of Michail Antonio and Nathan Redmond instead.
This has certainly caused a fracas here in the Tavern and our landlord has since gone to check out the reaction on Twitter, and it seems like there was a similar reaction there as there was in the pub….

Theo Walcott has scored 17 club goals in all competitions this season. More than any player in the latest England squad. [@Matt_Law_DT] #afc pic.twitter.com/ZADU039BM2
