Blackburn Rovers are set to inject the cash inherited from the Phil Jones transfer straight into the kitty for Steve Kean to rebuild his squad this summer, and MirrorFootball has reported top of that list is Manchester City outcast Emmanuel Adebayor.
This is a rumour that could quite possibly be laughed off the back page. The former Arsenal man who has currently been on loan with Real Madrid would have to take AT LEAST half a wage cut if he were to take up a new venture at Ewood.
Greedy-bayor is currently contracted with City until 2014, but they are keen to get his £150K a week wage of their books, and will be lucky off load the Togolese hit man for half the of £25m they paid for him in 2009.
Since the arrival of Roberto Mancini Adebayor has found himself out of favour with the Sky Blues and as time has progressed the Italian has deemed him surplus to requirements at Eastland’s.
During his six years associated with England’s top division Adebayor has hit the back of the net 81 times making 186 appearances.
I Just can’t see Rovers offering the sort of wage he will be looking for, and seen has he can’t even spell the word loyalty why should they. I believe this is just gossip that will fizzle out after a day or two…
