The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for the season to end with a bang. The Champions League final occurs next Saturday, and it’s likely to go down as one of the biggest night in each player’s respective careers.
However, for some of Liverpool’s finalists, the season will not end on the 26th of May. Some, instead, will be off to Russia. Gareth Southgate’s squad was announced on Wednesday, and both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson will be on the plane, but not every Liverpool man will be happy.

Adam Lallana has been excluded from the squad, though he is on the standby list, and so for him, the World Cup dream is unlikely to come true.
Naturally, fans are delighted that both Alexander-Arnold and Henderson will be off in the summer, but most supporters are also pretty happy that Lallana isn’t involved, it seems.
Liverpool supporters have taken to Twitter since the announcement to discuss the omission, and fans are pointing towards Lallana’s lack of football – and a need for an injury-free, full-length pre-season ahead of the next Premier League campaign.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
Think it's a blessing in disguise for lallana also he needs a full proper pre season under his belt ready for the start of next season #LFC

Personally, England not picking Lallana is mad because he adds a little flair. However, great from a Liverpool perspective? Fully fit for next season #lfc

Atleast Adam Lallana will recover well now, have a solid pre season and come out firing come August. . #lfc

Sucks for Lallana to miss the World Cup but he needs a full pre season under his belt to get back to his best. #LFC

As much as I love watching Adam Lallana play, I’m quite glad he’s not going to the World Cup. Hope he can regain full fitness for the start of next season! #LFC pic.twitter.com/sSCT8dT4YE
