Bournemouth have submitted an opening bid for Chelsea keeper Djordje Petrovic. The Cherries are looking for a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who they also signed from Chelsea on a season long loan last season, but has now moved to Arsenal.
They now look to raid Chelsea for a goalkeeper once more. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports that negotiations are ongoing between the clubs and that the player is keen on the move to the south coast.
Bournemouth are one of three Premier League clubs interested in Petrovic alongside Aston Villa and Sunderland. The latter approached Chelsea last week, but Romano added that there was no progress in those talks and Bournemouth now hope to swoop in.
Details surrounding the offer have been scarce, but it is understood that it has not been accepted by Chelsea and negotiations remain positive. The 25-year-old is keen to leave Stamford Bridge for first team football.
Petrovic keen on Bournemouth move

BBC Reported that a possible stumbling block in the deal pertains to an image rights issue regarding the player that needs resolving first. Bournemouth have been made aware and are exploring solutions.
The Serbia international is valued at around £25m and agreed a seven-year contract with Chelsea when he joined from New England Revolution in 2023. Petrovic also has admirers in France, where he spent a successful year on loan last season.
He played for Strasbourg, winning their player of the season award and appearing to grow in confidence between the sticks. As Strasbourg share an ownership group with Chelsea, the deal was straightforward to complete, and the French club have expressed interest in extending his stay.
Ligue 1 rivals Monaco are also reportedly keen on the player. As it stands though only Bournemouth has launched a concrete enquiry. Petrovic has pushed for a move away from Chelsea this summer, opting against a call-up to their Club World Cup squad.
The Blues have made it to the final of the competition and will face PSG on Sunday, July 13th.
