Brighton & Hove Albion: Ben White’s latest Instagram post prompts many replies which may worry Seagulls fans

Brighton defender Ben White saw his parent club effectively secure their Premier League status on Thursday while also helping his current side to the brink of promotion to that division.

The 22-year-old once again played the full 90 minutes for Leeds, preserving his ever-present record in this season’s Championship, as they saw off Barnsley 1-0 to move to within a point of clinching promotion. Indeed, if West Brom fail to beat Huddersfield this evening, the Elland Road outfit will be back in the top flight for the first time since 2004.

After the game, in which White excelled with eight interceptions, three successful tackles and four successful aerial duels (as per WhoScored), he took to Instagram (@ben_white6) to post images of him in action against the Tykes, eschewing the option to supplement it with a caption.

Perhaps the most notable element to White’s social media post was the replies, with Leeds team-mate Kalvin Phillips commenting “some player you” and numerous fans of the Yorkshire club begging for him to stay at Elland Road. [via @ben_white6 on Instagram]

The 22-year-old’s immediate future is currently up in the air, with him due to return to Brighton at the end of the Championship season. However, despite Sussex Live journalist Tom Coleman writing last week of his confidence that White will stay with the Seagulls next term, the defender has hinted (via Sky Sports) that he would be open to spending another season at Leeds.

In addition, Football Insider claimed that Premier League heavyweights such as Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City have all indicated an interest in making a move for the centre-back.

Yesterday was a magnificent day for White on two fronts, but some Brighton fans may be a tad anxious as to how much attention he will pay to the plethora of Leeds supporters begging him to commit his future to the Yorkshire outfit.
