‘Bring in a replacement’ - These Chelsea fans aren’t happy with star man after World Cup display

Chelsea haven’t yet returned to pre-season training, but fans have been running the rule over some of their players, and it’s safe to say that it’s not all positive. Indeed, given how poor last season was for the Blues, it won’t come as a surprise to hear that the fanbase is being overwhelmingly negative with regards to some of their star players.

One such example is Thibaut Courtois.

The Belgian didn’t have a particularly good season last time out, having been unable to stop the defensive rut that took hold at Stamford Bridge last term. Granted, he wasn’t solely at fault, but he didn’t have the trademark fantastic season that had previously made him so popular at Chelsea.

It seems that poor form has extended into his time with Belgium at the World Cup, too. Though he had a few bright moments, Courtois looked relatively poor against Japan on Monday evening, and the Chelsea fans on Twitter have made sure to let their club know about it.

A lot of Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the Belgian’s display, and they’re not impressed. Indeed, some are calling for him to be sold.
