Bringing 51-year-old Chelsea legend back to the club would be Granovskaia’s best move yet

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling pretty disappointed at the moment, but a recent report from Italy will likely cheer them up.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Gianfranco Zola could be coming back to Chelsea as Maurizio Sarri’s assistant manager, and our landlord thinks that it would be the Blues’ best move in years.

After all, the Italian will be the perfect person to help bridge the gap between the club and the fans. There’s a real division between the two parties at the moment, and at present, it’s only getting worse.  The reality is that they are going to have to do something magic to get the trust back, and bringing someone like Zola in would certainly do that.

It would also, of course, help Sarri’s transition, as he would be able to serve as the link between the new man and the club.

Furthermore, you’d also expect him to make a big impact on the pitch. He’s one of the greatest players to ever play in the Premier League, and so the players will undoubtedly see a benefit in having Zola there. His technical quality, his set-piece delivery, his work ethic – these are all things that the Italian can help transition over to the Chelsea squad.

Marina Granovskaia is not a very popular person amongst fans at the moment, and she’ll likely be tasked with handling much of this business. A move to bring Zola back would not only be one of Chelsea’s best, but it would also likely be her best yet – and the ramifications could be huge.
