The resident Reds faithful were celebrating in the Transfer Tavern last night following their sides emphatic Champions League performance…
Liverpool welcomed Spartak Moscow to Anfield last night with qualification all to play for, but any existing pre-match nerves were put firmly to rest by their blistering opening to the match. The Reds were off the mark within just 4 minutes as Philippe Coutinho converted from the spot to score the club’s fastest ever Champions League goal at Anfield. Coutinho’s strike proved to be the beginning of a Liverpool rout over the travelling Russian side who offered little resistance to the relentless onslaught on their goal.
Jurgen Klopp’s side eventually completed a 7-0 victory over Spartak and the result ensured their qualification to the knockout stages of the competition as winners of Group E.
The scoreline suggests it was the perfect night for Liverpool, however, an ankle injury collected by Alberto Moreno on the stroke of half-time put a dampener on an otherwise perfect evening.
Moreno has not exactly been a fan-favourite in recent years, as his questionable defending abilities have been criticised from the Anfield terraces on many an occasion.
But Moreno’s improvement this season has seen his reputation become vastly improved.
Indeed, the Kopites in the tavern believe the Spaniard is finally getting to grips with the Premier League and looking like a solid defender.
In response to Moreno’s injury, the majority of Liverpool supporters on Twitter offered their support and wished him a speedy recovery, but there were a handful of Moreno critics who were pleased to see him leave the field.
And the fans who were happy with Moreno’s injury have deservedly faced a tirade of criticism from their fellow supporters.
Here’s how the Liverpool supporters reacted to Moreno’s injury on Twitter…
Those celebrating Alberto Moreno's injury need to support another club. He has fought tooth and nail for Liverpool and you can see how much the badge means to him. He's hardly put a foot wrong this season and deserves our support. #LFC

Alberto Moreno was horrible for 15 minutes against Sevilla. Apart from that, he's been very good all season. And regardless of your agenda on him, you can't argue his passion and effort. Send him the messages of support he deserves.

We will be worse without him…that's the truth now, he's turned it all around and I hope it's only a twisted ankle.

Sorry, won't be getting a message from me. He's awful. Our fans are too nice clapping the donkey off the field.
