Too much fighting for places

With Martial and Rashford moving into the middle, it will leave Rashford as a backup striker to Romelu Lukaku alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic, or have him playing as a number 10, which sees him having to fight for his place among a host of other United players.

At least playing out on the left at the moment, there’s only himself and Martial sharing the role, and let’s not forgot that Rashford has played in every game so far this season.

Disgruntled at substitute role

Rashford is still young and coming on with his pace and explosive style of play is a great tool for Mourinho to have at his disposal though for the England man to flourish, he needs to be a first-team regular. He has played in every game for United this season and many of them have been substitute appearances.

As he progresses, this super sub role will become a burden on him and have a negative effect on his club performances, a talent like Rashford needs to be playing regularly in order to improve.
