The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are very concerned with the state of their team. It’s been a fantastic decade or so, but is everything beginning to unwind at Stamford Bridge?
Their last Premier League campaign was a bit of a disaster, with Antonio Conte’s men falling out of the top four and generally not looking very impressive.
There is also uncertainty surrounding the future of Contee, with the Italian’s long-term future still yet to be confirmed.
Elsewhere, the Blues have fallen behind on the pitch, with a lack of quality investment making the team look very poor alongside the likes of free-spending Liverpool and Man City.
Even off the field, it seems, things aren’t looking too good. Chelsea recently announced over on Twitter that the club would be halting all plans to rebuild Stamford Bridge, citing the economic climate.

It’s a huge blow for the club, especially given that so much progress had been made, and naturally, the fans online have come to some pretty concerning conclusions.
Specifically, they appear convinced that Roman Abramovich will be leaving the club. He has, of course, had a few issues with his visa in recent weeks, and given that his financial muscle would likely have been crucial to the plans, it’s easy to draw connections. Indeed, the Guardian have even reported as much following the announcement.
It’s fair to say that Chelsea fans aren’t feeling too optimistic. Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…

This is not good. Big blow. Abramovich having second thoughts in moving the club forward ?

I guess Roman Abromovich is hitting back, had to stop further investments just incase U.K keeps delaying his permit, it would be easier to sell the club and move on…. It's quite logical
