On the other hand, the Hornets will be feeling short-changed after they returned to Vicarage Road with nothing to show for their efforts following a commendable display. Next up for Chelsea is a home-tie against struggling Everton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
Conte is expected to ring the changes for his injury-riddled side and hand Belgian hot-prospect Charly Musonda a place in his starting eleven. Musonda recently made the headlines following a brazen outburst on social media, where he expressed his bitter disappointment over a lack of involvement for the first-team, despite his greatest efforts to impress this season.
Chelsea’s youth policy and general attitude towards emerging talent produced in their academy was further called into question by pundits on BBC Radio 5 live, particularly by Phil Neville, who passionately claimed Chelsea “should close their academy”.
