The announcement of the Celtic starting line-up and substitutes for Sunday’s Premiership fixture on the club’s official Twitter channel @CelticFC drew complaints from plenty of Hoops fans – but not necessarily for the composition of the team chosen by Neil Lennon.
Instead, it was the format chosen for the delivery of the team news for the home match against Kilmarnock which irked quite a few of the Parkhead faithful, with the line-up announced in a video format that illuminated each player’s name one-by-one along with displaying an image of the corresponding player.

Earlier this season, a number of Celtic supporters on social media voiced their disgruntlement with the club’s Twitter channel for announcing starting line-ups in numerical order rather than by playing position, making it trickier to decipher the tactical setup chosen by Lennon. However, as shown by the video for Sunday’s starting XI, their social media team now use positional rather than numerical order.
These Hoops fans on Twitter were not impressed with the video format and called for a more traditional method of announcing their team’s starting line-up:
