Celtic’s interest in Eddie Howe is no secret.

Howe appears to be closing in on a move to Glasgow to become Neil Lennon’s long-term successor following positive discussions with Dermot Desmond earlier this week, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Hughes and Burchill to join Howe at Celtic?

The Daily Mail also add that the former Bournemouth boss is prepared to stick with John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan as part of his coaching team but wants Cherries technical director Richard Hughes at Parkhead.

Along with the possible arrival of Hughes, it seems as if another Bournemouth man could make the move north to link up with Howe.

Mark Burchill, who scored 20 goals for the Hoops, is in line for a Celtic return after Nick Hammond’s resignation on Wednesday as head of football operations.

The report believes that Burchill, a scout on the south coast, could also head north if Howe puts pen to paper at Celtic Park.

Transfer Tavern take

It seems as if Celtic’s rebuild is really starting to take shape.

Peter Lawwell will be replaced by Dominic McKay in the summer, Lennon looks set to be replaced by Howe, while former Hoops man Burchill, along with Hughes, could fill the void left by Hammond.

An on-field shakeup over the summer appears to be next on the agenda once the off-field duties are decided, as Celtic look for an immediate response next season following a woeful 10-month period.
