David Moyes has been linked with the vacant Celtic managerial post recently, and now the West Ham manager’s friend Danny Mills has given his thoughts on the possibility of Moyes moving to Parkhead.

According to Give Me Sport, Moyes has emerged as a candidate to replace Neil Lennon, with the Hoops reportedly keen on a possible switch.

Moyes’ Celtic move addressed

Talking exclusively to Football Insider, Mills was asked whether his friend would be tempted by a move back north, to which he simply said: "No chance."

Mills went on to add: "He could have European football at West Ham. It takes you a while to build things and it’s a complete rebuild project at Celtic and the expectancy levels will be very high.

"He doesn’t need that job. They need David Moyes but David Moyes doesn’t need Celtic."

Transfer Tavern take

Moyes has worked his magic at West Ham over the last 12 months, taking them from a side narrowly avoiding relegation to flirting with the possibility of playing Champions League football next season.

On that basis, you can see why the Hoops have sounded him out as a possible Lennon successor.

However, based on Mills’ latest comments, who seemingly knows Moyes well, he can’t see a move back to Scotland materialising in the near future; and should the Hammers finish in the top four of the Premier League, the task to lure Moyes to Celtic Park could, in our view, become even harder.
