The Lowdown: Howe agrees Hoops move
Reports from talkSPORT on Wednesday night claimed that the Englishman has agreed on a deal to succeed Neil Lennon at Parkhead and will take charge ahead of the 2021/22 season.
It is believed that some of Howe’s coaching staff will come from Bournemouth, however, former assistant Jason Tindall won’t be making the move north alongside the Englishman.
One of the reasons for the delay in announcing Howe is thought to be due to Bournemouth’s involvement in the Championship playoffs, but it seems as if a deal may already be finalised, just not announced.
The Latest: Kenny’s ‘done deal’ claim
Although a deal for the 43-year-old is yet to be officially announced, Kenny claims it is a ‘done deal’.
“Eddie Howe for #Celtic. Done deal apparently”
Is Howe the right man for the Celtic job?
No, could've done better
The Verdict: When could a deal be announced?
In our opinion, it could rely on how Bournemouth fare against Brentford in the playoffs. Should they progress to the final at Wembley, some of Howe’s coaching staff would more than likely be busy until the end of the month.
However, should they lose to the Bees across two legs, their season would be over on May 22.
Howe may well want to wait until his coaching staff are in place before an official announcement, so Bournemouth’s semi-final could be worth a watch for the Hoops – the Cherries are unlikely to want exits confirmed which could potentially upset their apple cart at such a crucial time.
