The Celtic Way writer Tony Haggerty believes that manager Ange Postecoglou is getting a tune out of Ryan Christie and the Celtic supporters want him to stay this summer as a result.

The 26-year-old midfielder has 6-0 in back-to-back games against Dundee and St. Mirren.

The Daily Record reported that Burnley remain keen on Christie before the transfer window closes but Haggerty says that Celtic supporters want him to stay at Celtic Park this summer, telling Transfer Tavern: “The great thing about Ange Postecoglou is he’s managed to get a tune out of Ryan Christie despite the fact his contract is running down.

"The Celtic supporters are clamouring for Ryan Christie to stay and for Celtic to have that conversation.”

Christie only has a few months left on his current Celtic contract, which runs until Jan 1, 2022, with the Daily Record also reporting that Postecoglou has said that he would like Celtic to get Christie tied down to a new contract.

After turning around their fortunes in the Scottish Premiership, Celtic travel to AZ Alkmaar for their Europa League qualifying play-off second leg on Thursday. The Hoops travel to the Netherlands with a 2-0 lead and will be hoping to complete the job and get into the Europa League group stages.
