Leeds United: Barry Douglas handed damning verdict on future by fans - Leeds United

Many Leeds United fans have been discussing defender Barry Douglas and his future at Elland Road.

The 30-year-old Glasgow born left-back arrived at Leeds in 2018 after spending time with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Despite appearing frequently during his debut season with the club, which saw Leeds reach the Championship play-off semi-final, Douglas struggled to end the season and start the 2019/2020 campaign due to injury problems.

11 appearances in the Championship this term have seen the former Scottish international drop behind both Stuart Dallas and Ezgjan Alioski, who have been the preferred options for Marcelo Bielsa on the left side of defence despite it not even being their natural position .

With football at a standstill at present, Leeds’ focus is very much on gaining promotion to the Premier League, something The Whites are in pole position to do, sitting 1st place in the Championship table.

Douglas, who will see his contract expire at Elland Road next summer, will undoubtedly be hoping to play a bigger part when and if the footballing season returns.
