Chelsea fans are looking rather touched here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro claim that unless he gets a new deal with the Blues, John Terry will hang up his boots altogether.
Now as one of our punters notes, not only will that soon become a non-issue for the defender – but it shows that he really is a one man club unlike certain other Chelsea ‘legends’ who find it acceptable to leave Chelsea and sign for Premier League rivals.
Terry was speaking about his future after a Man of the Match award in the League Cup final – ten years on from the first time he received that accolade – and noted: ‘No, I wouldn’t play for another club and I also think there’s a right time to go as well.’
According to our landlord, we think Terry is as close to a shoe-in for a new deal as you can get in football – and there is plenty more to come from the 34-year-old and probably a few more trophies to add to his collection to boot.
