Most of the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern agree with him…
Bertrand Traore has had a bit of a strange 18 m0nths or so.
Under Guus Hiddink last season, the Burkina Faso forward was propelled into the first team, and often played second-fiddle to first choice striker Diego Costa.
After impressing on a number of occasions, it was widely expected in the Football Transfer Tavern that he would continue in that vein this season, with Costa often injury-prone.
However, in what was a strange decision, the Blues instead decided to loan him to Ajax out of nowhere – and it would appear that the striker is not very happy about that decision.
According to the Evening Standard, he said: “I felt, and feel, that I am ready for Chelsea…Why did I play so much in pre-season [if I was going on loan]?
He continued: “Why was I allowed to participate so often under Guus Hiddink? Why do young players get no real chance at Chelsea?”
Traore definitely isn’t happy – and the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern definitely agree with him. He has been Chelsea’s standout youngster over the last few years, and he is definitely good enough to do a job in the Blues first team.
Our landlord thinks that this could spell the end of his tenure at Chelsea. He doesn’t think the Blues will take too kindly to these comments…
Traore has scored 2 league goals for Chelsea since coming to London.
