According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Chelsea and Manchester City are set to throw their hats in the ring for the signing of Real Madrid man Isco once the January transfer window opens.
The news has excited our resident Blues and Citizens fans who know the Spaniard to be a potentially top drawer midfielder, that just needs to be given more game time to improve his confidence than what he is being offered with Los Blancos.
The midfielder has made twelve appearances for the La Liga side but most of them have been as a substitute and now it is believed that he may finally want to move away from the Spanish capital.
The two Premier League clubs may face strong competition from the likes of Juventus and AC Milan once the window opens, however, and so we could be set for a royal rumble in the battle to sign the former Malaga man.
So far this season both Chelsea and City have impressed in the Premier League with the Blues leading the way by a point from the Citizens and Liverpool.
It’s an ever-tightening title race, then, and the signing of Isco could be the key to who wins the league in May.
