The London Evening Standard have Chelsea fans looking up with a huge amount of interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think that the Blues could well have a fair bit of cash to splash this summer – and not use any of it.
Jose Mourinho has often spoken about the new strategy the club have in terms of bringing through their younger players and also abiding by the FFP rules, and while he will easily be able to do both this summer should he wish to do so, the Blues manager also thinks it will be a quiet summer.
He noted: ‘I’m happy with the squad I have. But can I say zero movements in and out? I don’t believe. I always want to improve and a couple changes are to be made.’
We think Jose will bring in at least one central defender, with Raphael Varane hotly tipped to join the west London club – and another forward given Mourinho clearly does not trust Loic Remy.
