The Blues are looking for a Petr Cech replacement with the long serving goalkeeper set to leave the club come the summer, after losing his place to Thibaut Courtois and becoming dissatisfied with life mainly on the bench – and after ten years of stellar service in the Premier League, we empathise with his decision.
Cech will have his pick of clubs should he decide to leave west London and as one of our punters notes, replacing him will be a thankless task and now Celtic star Gordon is the latest name to make that list.
Bar one disastrous performance against Inter Milan in Celtic’s first leg in the Europa League – which he more than made up for in the away leg – the 32-year-old has been excellent this term and we can easily see why he has worked his way onto Mourinho’s radar.
