The Sunday Express have stunned Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern after claiming that Jose Mourinho could well be willing to send one of his star men out on loan.

The player in question is Kurt Zouma, who may be behind the likes of John Terry and Gary Cahill in the pecking order, but is certainly impressing when handed the chance in the cup competitions – yet it seems that in order to really develop his career, Mourinho could well be willing to send him out on loan for the second half of the season.

Turkish side Besiktas are thought to be leading the race for Zouma but as one of our regulars notes, we think that with injuries and suspensions coming thick and fast at this time of year, the Blues will want to keep their best players at the club and as teams are finding out, a strong squad is more vital than ever.

Not only that, but manager Jose Mourinho has made the point that he wants to keep his squad together for the rest of the season and we think that the Special One will want to stick to that!
