Chelsea fans are all saying the same thing on Twitter after concerning Marcos Alonso news

Many of Chelsea’s regular players have divided fans this season, with the Blues’ mixed form unsurprisingly generating a lot of conversations in the Transfer Tavern.

One player that generates more talk than most is defender Marcos Alonso. Though a solid member of the team since moving from Italy, Alonso isn’t the most popular man in the Chelsea dressing room.

He’s made his fair share of errors over the years, and against Southampton over the weekend, he made possibly his biggest yet. An unseen stamp on Shane Long has led to an FA charge, and if found guilty, the Spaniard could miss a number of Chelsea’s upcoming games.

Undoubtedly, that’s a blow for Chelsea. Particularly given their impending semi-final FA Cup clash, Chelsea need their best players, and Alonso definitely is one of them.

The Chelsea fans over on Twitter, though, don’t seem too bothered. Indeed, they’re all saying the same thing in response to the news – they want to see what Emerson Palmieri can do.

Palmieri, of course, moved to Chelsea in January, and he hasn’t really had much of a chance. He certainly hasn’t had the regular involvement that most expected, and so fans haven’t really had the chance to see what he can do.

Clearly, though, fans are hopeful that that will change over the coming weeks, especially if Alonso is banned.
