It’s been a frustrating few years for Marco van Ginkel at Chelsea, and it’s fair to say that the latest update with regards to him has not gone down well amongst fans.
Van Ginkel moved to Chelsea from Vitesse back in 2013, and he looked good initially. Known for his excellent energy and tackling, he looked set to be a fantastic asset in the middle of the park for the club.
However, a cruel injury quickly brought his first campaign to a close, and he hasn’t really been able to recover.
He has since been on loan to Milan, Stoke City and PSV Eindhoven, and last season was undoubtedly a highlight for him as he enjoyed his best campaign in years.
That, naturally, leaves him in a very tough spot, and it’s fair to say that plenty of Chelsea supporters online are frustrated, to say the least.
