Emerson Palmieri has missed Chelsea’s previous two league games against Brighton and Southampton with a hamstring injury.

The Italian started the Blues’ first four league fixtures before missing their clash against Wolves and pulling up during the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in September, failing to feature since.
Emerson’s replacement, Marcos Alonso, has filled in well for him by assisting twice – once in the league against Southampton and once in the EFL Cup hammering over Grimsby Town, per Transfermarkt.
However, once Emerson returns to full fitness, it is likely that manager Frank Lampard will throw him back into the first-team fold at Stamford Bridge. After starting the 25-year-old at the beginning of the campaign, it’s clear that the former Blues midfielder rates him highly.
