Chelsea: Fans give their approval over potential signing of Edinson Cavani

Chelsea fans were left giving their seal of approval over a move for Edinson Cavani after Paris Saint Germain admitted the player wants to leave the French side.

The Ligue 1 table-toppers came out on Sunday and claimed the player wants to depart the French capital as he handed in a formal transfer request. La Liga side Atletico Madrid have been linked with a move for the Uruguayan this winter and their chief Miguel Angel Gil Martin held talks with Nasser Al-Khelaifi last Tuesday to discuss a transfer (via Sky Sports).

One fan gave any transfer the thumbs up as he called him ‘proven’.

The west London side are said to have formally enquired (via L’Equipe) over a move for the player amid claims from Frank Lampard that he wants to strengthen his attack this month (via The Telegraph). Cavani has endured a frustrating campaign as a plethora of injuries have reduced him to just 14 appearances across all competitions (via Transfermarkt). Due to the PSG forward’s limited game time, Tammy Abraham averages more shots per league game this season (per WhoScored).
