The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s latest edition of Chelsea Here Chelsea There. Chelsea have developed a reputation for stockpiling players and loaning out dozens of youngsters every season, despite there being only a handful of them going onto make a career for themselves at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have lost a number of their young players recently to other sides around Europe who are more prepared to provide first-team opportunities. Dominic Solanke, Nathan Ake and Nathaniel Chalobah all walked away from Stamford Bridge on permanent transfers last summer after Chelsea failed to offer them senior squad opportunities. Meanwhile, players such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Matt Miazga, Kurt Zouma, Kenedy and Mason Mount are all plying their trade away from Chelsea.
Mason Mount is the player who Chelsea have been focussing on this week. The 19-year-old youngster won the Player of the Year award at Vitesse Arnhem this season. The midfielder has scored eight goals in 28 appearances for the club this season and is now the club’s youngest ever winner of the award. Mount provided both a goal and an assist as Vitesse won 5-0 in their final league game of the season which confirmed them a spot in the Europa League play-offs for next season.
