Chelsea take on Bournemouth in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium tonight with most of the talk heading into the game surrounding Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The 18-year-old winger recently had his transfer request turned down in his attempt to force a move to Bayern Munich (Sky Sports), and his manager Maurizio Sarri has since called for him to show a bit more respect to his current club.
“Callum is 18. He has to respect the club, the academy, everything. He has time,” Sarri was quoted saying by Goal. “Respect the academy. If you are one of the best young players in Europe, maybe the academy helped you. So you have to respect this.”
At 18 and having only just made it into the Chelsea first team, in some sense, it is not hard to see where Sarri is coming from when it comes to Hudson-Odoi and the whole transfer request situation.
Though, given the Blues’ track record with developing youngsters, you can hardly blame the England U19 international for believing his future probably lies elsewhere.

He owes Chelsea time! He needs to give them enough time to see if he is developing in the right way. Not jump ship after 6 months (and with enough game time) at the first club who show some serious interest. Disrespect and lack of loyalty.
