Chelsea fans on Twitter react to Morata’s Atletico brace

Chelsea fans were all delighted when the news broke that they’d signed Gonzalo Higuain on-loan and allowed Alvaro Morata to leave on a temporary deal of his own to Atletico Madrid. They were sick and tired of the Spaniard costing them, yet since his return to Madrid is form has picked up and on Sunday he grabbed a brace in a 2-0 win.

When Atletico Madrid travelled to the Anoeta Stadium to face Real Sociedad a win was never going to be a given. However, Los Rojiblancos came away from the came with three points, two goals and a clean sheet and Morata was the star. The Spaniard scored both his goals with his head in the opening 45 minutes as he made it three goals in his first six games for Diego Simeone’s side and he looks to be in good form.

However, the Blues are well aware of how good Morata can be in Spain and won’t expect him to be able to convert his form in his native country over the Premier League anytime soon. They’re well aware that the pace of the football in the different countries is vastly different and they’ll all be more than happy to let Morata leave on a permanent deal to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium should Simeone come in for the 26-year-old.
